Child at the Dentist

 Dental Examination

Start visits when your child’s first teeth appear, or before their first birthday.

Keep visits positive and follow your dentist’s advice on check-up timing. X-rays are taken when clinically needed.

Smile Check

Brush Together

Brush twice daily for about two minutes with fluoride toothpaste, including last thing at night.

Help young children brush. From age three, encourage them to spit out excess toothpaste without rinsing.

Young Family

Home Care

Under three: use a small smear of fluoride toothpaste.

Ages three to six: use a pea-sized amount.

Check the fluoride level on the pack and ask your dentist which toothpaste suits your child.
